1 Officer, Gunman Dead In Reported Terrorist Attack In Paris

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Police say a gunman killed a police officer before being killed himself during an attack in Paris, France.

Two other officers are seriously injured.

Paris police spokeswoman Johanna Primevert told the Associated Press that the attacker targeted police guarding the area near the Franklin Roosevelt subway station.

According to the AP, the French Interior Ministry says the shooting attack deliberately targeted police officers guarding the area near the famed Champs-Elysees boulevard in Paris.

French prosecutors have opened a terrorism investigation into the attack.

Shortly after the shooting, President Donald Trump said the shooting "looks like another terrorist attack" during a press conference with Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni Silveri at the White House.
