2 Killed After Motorcycle Crashed Into Vehicle

WALDORF, Md. (AP) -- A fiery motorcycle crash left the driver and his passenger dead.

Forty seven-year-old Derek Anthony Colquitt and 34-year-old Jeri Lenelle Whorton were killed Sunday afternoon after Colquitt crashed the motorcycle into the back of a Dodge Ram. The motorcycle then caught on fire.

Colquitt died at the scene. Whorton was airlifted to Prince George's hospital where she died.

Police say Colquitt was driving southbound on U.S. Route 301 and speed played a factor in the crash.
