Man, Woman Killed In Canton Shooting

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—City police are investigating a double shooting in Canton on Thursday afternoon.

It happened in the 3600 block of Boston Street near the Shops At Canton Crossing, after gun fire was reported in the area.

At the scene, police say a man and woman were found shot to death inside an SUV.

Gigi Barnett has the latest.

"I figured it was a robbery," one shopper said.

Shoppers watched in horror as police covered the vehicle to shield the scene.

"It's very shocking, I don't ever recall something like this happening"

Authorities are calling the shooting a potential murder-suicide and that the victims appear to be in their 20's.

City Councilman Jim Kraft sent out a message on his Facebook page put shoppers at ease saying the shooting wasn't a random act, "We have been informed by the Baltimore City Police Department that the shooting that occurred today at Canton Crossing was a domestic incident. The shooting occurred within the automobile. This was not a random act. We will make more details available if and when we receive them."

The vehicle is being towed away to a crime lab, the motive for the shooting is still being investigated.
