2 Fatally Injured In Multi-Vehicle Crash In Arnold

ARNOLD, Md. (WJZ) -- Two people died in a multi-vehicle collision outside Annapolis Tuesday evening.

Anne Arundel County police say officers responded to the accident around 7:08 p.m. on the northbound side of Ritchie Highway at College Parkway in Arnold.

A Nissan Sentra, driven by 32-year-old Manuel A. Valencia of Arnold,  was southbound on Ritchie Highway and turned left towards College Parkway although he had a red signal, a preliminary investigation noted. The Sentra drove into the path of a GMC Suburban that 56-year-old Charles Michael Nossick of Severna Park was driving.

The GMC pushed the overturned Nissan into a traffic light pole, police said. Valencia was pronounced dead on the scene.

Nossick was ejected from the GMC and although transported to Shock Trauma, died shortly after.

Police continue to investigate the crash.
