2 Dead After Crash In Frederick County

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say two people have died and four people were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Frederick County.

The accident happened Saturday around noon on U.S. 340 near Mount Zion Road.

Officials say a preliminary investigation shows a 2004 Ford Expedition was traveling eastbound on Route 340. A witness says the vehicle went out of control, crossed the center median and traveled into the westbound lanes. The Ford then struck a 2012 Toyota Prius and a 2013 Honda Pilot. The driver of the Ford and the female driver of the Prius were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police did not release the identities of anyone involved in the accident.
