Police Name 5 Of 6 Deceased Victims In Baltimore Bus Crash

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Police have named five of the six victims who died when a MTA bus and school bus collided on Frederick Avenue in Baltimore Tuesday morning.

Investigators say a school bus was traveling eastbound near the 3800 block of Frederick Avenue shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday when it hit a Mustang, then struck a pillar at Loudon Park Cemetery. Finally, it hit the oncoming No. 10 MTA bus from Dundalk to Catonsville.

There were no children on the school bus at the time of the crash, authorities say.

THE VICTIMS

  • School bus driver, Glenn R. Chappell, 67
  • MTA bus driver, Ebonee Danell Baker, 33
  • Cherry Denise Yarborough, 51, of 51200 Woolverton Ave., Baltimore
  • Terance Lee Casey, 52, of 200 Saint Matthews Street, Baltimore
  • Gerald Holloway, 51, of 600 Dumbarton Ave., Baltimore
  • 46-year-old female of no fixed address, next-of-kin not yet determined

Two of five victims of the Baltimore bus crash who were taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center for treatment Tuesday have been discharged.

Two female patients were released, the hospital announced at 10 a.m. Wednesday, and two other female patients and a male patient remain at the hospital. Of those, one is listed in fair condition, one is listed in serious condition, and one is listed in critical condition.

According to police, the other five who were hospitalized elsewhere have also been released.

The 10 people who were hospitalized were identified by gender and ages. It is unknown which of these are the women released from the University of Maryland Medical Center:

  • 40-year-old man in critical condition
  • 29-year-old woman suffered minor injuries
  • 38-year-old woman suffered minor injuries
  • 25-year-old woman suffered minor injures
  • 32-year-old woman suffered minor injuries
  • 23-year-old woman suffered minor injuries
  • 29-year-old woman in critical condition
  • 36-year-old man suffered minor injuries
  • 52-year-old man suffered minor injures
  • 44-year-old woman suffered minor injuries
