2 Arrested In Robbery Of Md. Ice Cream Shop

WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) -- The Maryland State Police says two people have been arrested in connection with the robbery of an ice cream shop in Westminster.

Authorities say Christopher Sorger, 35, and Danielle Frederick, 32, have been charged with armed robbery and other offenses.

The Maryland State Police says authorities were called Friday around 3:30 p.m. to Hoffman's ice cream shop in the 900-block of Washington Road for a report of a robbery. Investigators were told a man approached the counter and threatened to shoot if an employee didn't give him money from the store's register.

The employee handed over money and the suspect fled. No one was injured.

The Maryland State Police says investigators identified Sorger as a suspect and determined Frederick helped him.

Neither appeared to have a listed telephone number.
