$1M Winning Powerball Ticket Sold On Eastern Shore

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—A ticket sold on Maryland's Eastern Shore was almost worth the massive $949.8 million Powerball jackpot on Saturday night.

Lottery officials say one lucky person is holding a second-tier winning ticket worth $1 million.

The ticket was purchased at Food Lion, located on 10126 Old Ocean City Boulevard, in Berlin

Lottery officials encourage the winner to sign the back of the ticket immediately and put it in a safe location.

Food Lion will receive a $2,500 bonus for selling the winning ticket, officials say.

The $1 million winner has 182 days to claim their prize.

The next Powerball drawing is on Wednesday night and the jackpot is expected to be at least $1.3 billion.
