124 Arrested In Prince George's County After Warrant Sweep

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- More than 100 people have been arrested in Prince George's County after a warrant sweep that targeted suspects in crimes related to domestic violence.

The Washington Post reports deputies from the Prince George's County Office of the Sheriff and officers from several other law enforcement agencies in the region performed the sweep last week.

The sheriff's office says authorities knocked on roughly 400 doors to arrest 124 people and close 146 outstanding warrants.

Those arrested face charges including assault, violation of protective orders, stalking and other charges related to domestic violence.

The sheriff's office leads the warrant sweep in Prince George's County each October during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
