100s Of Bikers Crossing Maryland On Annual Sept. 11 Ride

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Hundreds of motorcyclists are traveling across parts of western Maryland and northern Virginia as part of a Sept. 11 anniversary event.

Friday's schedule begins with a visit to the site near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, where one of the four jetliners hijacked by terrorists crashed in 2001. From there, they head to Arlington, Virginia, along Interstate 68, I-70, U.S. 15 and the Dulles Greenway.

The group is spending Friday night near the Pentagon, where another jetliner crashed.

On Saturday, the ride continues up Interstate 95 to New York City. It ends Sunday at the World Trade Center memorial to victims of the two jetliners that crashed there.

The commemorative ride is organized by America's 911 Foundation to support emergency responders and honor the victims of the attacks.
