$1,000 Reward For Info On Sex Offender Who Left Home Visit

HYATTSVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police are offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the safe apprehension of a convicted sex offender who walked away from a home visit.

The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene says 49-year-old James Norris Jr., who lived at a state hospital, walked away from a court-ordered home visit on Warner Avenue in Hyattsville on Thursday afternoon.

Norris was last seen wearing a black track jacket with a white stripe down the sleeves, blue jeans and New Balance sneakers.

Troopers say anyone who encounters Norris should avoid contact, and call police immediately.
