10 Sent To Hospital After Dump Truck Hits Bus In Maryland

WHITE OAK, Md. (AP) -- A dump truck rear-ended a Metro bus in Montgomery County, sending 10 people to the hospital.

Pete Piringer, a spokesman for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, says none of the injuries is serious or life-threatening.

He says the crash happened around 2 p.m. Wednesday in the area of White Oak, about 5 miles north of Silver Spring. He says it's unclear what caused the crash, but that the preliminary investigation shows the dump truck hit the back of the Metro bus.

Metro spokesman Dan Stessel says 16 passengers and a driver were on board the C8 bus.
