1 Set On Fire, 2 Shot As Overnight Violence Claims 2 Lives In Baltimore City

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- Police say one man was set on fire and another shot in the head as violence erupted overnight in Baltimore City--leaving two dead and one injured in three separate incidents.

The first incident occurred Thursday night. At around 10:21 p.m. Thursday, officers were called to an area hospital for a walk-in shooting victim. The adult male victim was being treated for a gunshot wound to his thigh. The victim told officers that he was walking through the 1400-block of E. Monument Street when three suspects approached him in what appeared to be a robbery. During the incident one of the suspects produced a handgun and fired a single shot into the victim's thigh. A man was fatally shot in the head early Friday morning. Just after 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a reported shooting in the 2000-block of Linden Avenue.  When officers arrived they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

At around 1:50 a.m. Friday, officers were called to 4201 Shamrock Avenue for a report of a body on fire. Officers and the fire department responded to the location and found an adult male. who was pronounced dead at the scene. A preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim was involved in an altercation inside of a dwelling and he was later found outside where he had been set on fire. Detectives are interviewing a person of interest at this time.

Homicide detectives are investigating both fatal incidents and they are asking anyone with information to call 410-396-2100.
