Train Service Resumes After Pedestrian Struck

LANHAM, Md. (AP) -- Officials say train service has resumed after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a MARC train.

Prince George's County Fire Department spokesperson Mark Brady said the incident occurred early Monday on the Amtrak/MARC tracks near Annapolis Road and Whitfield Chapel Road in Lanham.

The incident forced officials to temporarily halt MARC and Amtrak service in certain areas.

But Amtrak said Monday afternoon that limited service has resumed between Washington and Baltimore. Officials say a MARC train departed

Baltimore after 11 a.m. and will make all stops to Washington.

Authorities say travels should continue to expect delays.
