1 Killed, 3 Hurt in ATV Crash in Frederick County

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — Authorities say one person has been killed and three others injured, including one critically, after an all-terrain vehicle and an SUV collided head-on in Frederick County.

Frederick County Sheriff's Office Cpl. Amanda Ensor said in a news release that the crash occurred Monday afternoon near Buckeystown when the ATV crossed the centerline and struck the SUV.

Deputies say 21-year-old ATV passenger Chris W. Munday, of Middletown, was killed and 29-year-old ATV driver Kenneth M. Niblett, of Frederick, was in critical condition.

Two people inside the SUV — a woman and her 12-year-old son — were injured and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say it is not clear whether alcohol played a role in the crash.
