1 Killed, 1 Injured In Harford County Fire

WHITEFORD, Md. (WJZ) -- State fire officials are trying to determine the cause of a fatal fire in Harford County.

One person was killed and another injured in a fatal fire Thursday morning in Whiteford.

Firefighters were called to a two-alarm house fire in the 4000 block of Prospect Road around 1:53 a.m.

It took 50 firefighters an hour to control the fire.

Once extinguished, the firefighters found an adult deceased inside.

The injured victim was taken to Bayview Medical Center with non-life threatening burn injuries.

There was no evidence of working fire alarms at the time of the fire.

Total damages are estimated at $150,000.

The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore to determine the identification of the victim and for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death
