1 Killed, 1 Hurt In Waldorf Shooting

WALDORF, Md. (AP) -- The Charles County Sheriff's Office says one man was killed and another injured in a shooting in Waldorf.

The department said in a news release that the shooting occurred Wednesday on Gittings Court. Deputies say two men who were acquaintances got into a fight with a third person. Both men were shot.

Authorities say 19-year-old Thomas Elijah Tibbs of Waldorf died of his injuries at a hospital. Police say the other man is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives say the suspect may have fled in a black car.
