1 Dead, 4 Injured After Collision In Frederick County

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say one person is dead and four people were taken to hospitals after an SUV collided with a tractor-trailer in Frederick.

State Police say it happened Wednesday on eastbound I-70. State Police say the driver of a 2001 Ford Explorer traveled off the roadway and collided with a stopped tractor-trailer. State Police say the driver of the Explorer, 25-year-old Lateca Thompson of Ohio, was taken to the hospital where she later died.

State Police say an adult passenger and three children -- a 6-month-old, a 10-month-old and a 2-year-old -- were taken to the hospital. State Police did not release their conditions.

State Police say the cause of the crash is under investigation.
