Lindsey Graham's First Primary Challenger?

Republican state representative Jeff Duncan is the first Republican to publicly say he’s considering taking on Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) in next year’s GOP primary.

Duncan said that Graham’s strong support of last month’s failed comprehensive immigration reform bill prompted many conservatives in South Carolina to encourage him to run.

“I’ve been encouraged from a lot of different folks across the state. We’re talking to people, but no decision is imminent,” said Duncan.

He said one factor holding him back was the immense amount of money he would have to raise in a statewide campaign. Graham already has $3.6 million in his Senate campaign account.

Duncan has a solidly conservative voting record in the state legislature, and has been a strong supporter of the state’s business community.
