Corey Haim Remembered as 911 Tape Released

More than 200 people gathered in Toronto on Tuesday to pay their final respects to child star Corey Haim.

It was a difficult day, reports CBS News correspondent Michelle Gielan, made even harder when the frantic 911 calls made by Haim's mother Judy were released to the public. (Click on the player below to hear the tape)

The panic in her voice can be hard to listen to.

"He's not breathing!" the distraught mother is heard telling the emergency operator. "He's 38 years old. I don't know what's going on. He had a fever this morning."

The dispatcher tries to get Judy Haim to perform CPR on her son, but to no avail.

The baby-faced actor died in hospital last week with an enlarged heart, pulmonary congestion and water in his lungs.

In recent years Haim spoke openly about a lengthy battle with drug addiction, but it was not known what role drugs may have played in his death. The coroner is still awaiting results of a toxicology test.

Grim-faced mourners filed into a north Toronto funeral home Tuesday to remember the life of the fallen teen icon.

The former heartthrob, best known for starring in a string of '80s films including "Lucas," "The Lost Boys" and "License to Drive," was honored in a private ceremony in his hometown.

Haim's friend and "Lost Boys" co-star Corey Feldman said Monday he was planning a public memorial in Los Angeles.

Feldman did not intend to be at Tuesday's funeral, and he asked media to respect the family's wishes that it remain private.
