Cops: Teen girl fatally stabbed church elder, 79

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. -- Authorities in southern California say a 16-year-old girl fatally stabbed a church elder and drove off in his vehicle, reports CBS Los Angeles.

The victim has been identified as 79-year-old Willie Hunter, a church minister and elder who police say was an acquaintance of the teen.

Deputies responded Saturday afternoon to a home in Apple Valley after receiving a report that an elderly man who lived there had not been seen in several days.  After entering his apartment, police say they found Hunter dead, the victim of an apparent homicide.

Investigators determined the suspect knew Hunter and was at his apartment when an altercation ensued, and the suspect stabbed Hunter multiple times. They later identified the suspect as the teen girl.

The girl was arrested Sunday and booked as a juvenile on suspicion of murder, the station reports. She has not been identified.
