Former Vice President Dick Cheney apparently suffered from a minor heart attack, tests reveal.

Cheney was hospitalized Monday at the George Washington University Medical Center after experiencing chest pains.

"Lab testing revealed evidence of a mild heart attack," according to a statement from Cheney's office. "He underwent a stress test and a heart catheterization. He is feeling good and is expected to be discharged in the next day or two."

Cheney, 69, has already had four other heart attacks. He has had quadruple bypass surgery and two artery-clearing angioplasties.

Politico reports that an aide to Vice President Joe Biden said the vice president called his predecessor Tuesday to wish him the best and implore him to "get better soon."

The "very friendly and personal" call lasted about five minutes, the aide said, and came after Biden spoke to Liz Cheney, the former vice president's daughter.
