Bus, commuter train collide in Los Angeles

(CBS/AP) LOS ANGELES - A commuter train and bus have collided near downtown Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey says a handful of people complaining of knee or back pain have been taken to a hospital. He says the exact number will be available later.

None of the injuries are life-threatening.

The Metro Blue Line train collided with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus just before 7 a.m. at San Pedro Street and Washington Boulevard, and the bus then knocked down a traffic signal.

About 40 people were being assessed for possible injuries, CBS Los Angeles station KCAL/KCBS-TV reports.

The train did not derail and Humphrey says about 150 people aboard the train are waiting to continue their journey.
