Both presidential campaigns will pause for 9/11
Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are planning to put their campaigns on pause next month to mark the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, according to Politico.
Both presidential campaigns have pledged to stop airing TV ads on that Sunday.
Priorities USA, the leading Clinton super PAC, also said it would also stop airing its ads, the report said.
In 2008, then-Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. John McCain made a joint appearance at ground zero and in 2012 Mr. Obama and Mitt Romney held separate events, the report noted.
This comes as both campaigns are expected to kick into high gear after Labor Day as they prepare for general election debates and lobby for every last vote before Election Day.
Next Wednesday, both candidates are scheduled to appear at a televised forum hosted by the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America to focus on national security, veterans’ issues and the military.
