McCain, Obama Continue To Hit Hard In Ads

Another day, another pair of critical ads from the McCain and Obama campaigns.

In its new ad, called "Mum," the McCain camp pushes the notion that its candidate has proactively taken action on the financial crisis while rival Barack Obama stayed silent. The 30-second spot will be "televised nationally," according to the campaign.

"In crisis, experience matters," an announcer says in the spot. "McCain and his Congressional allies led. Tough rules on Wall Street. Stop CEO rip-offs. Protect your savings and pensions."

She continues: "Obama and his liberal allies? Mum on the market crisis. Because no one knows what to do. More taxes. No leadership. A risk your family can't afford."

Obama-Biden spokesman Bill Burton responded to the ad with this statement: “This ad is laughable. If you believe John McCain, George Bush and the Republicans in Washington have led on reforming Wall Street and restraining CEO pay, I've got a bridge in Alaska to sell you."

The Obama camp, meanwhile, is out with "Destination," which suggests that McCain pledged during a trip to Bermuda to protect a "tax scheme" benefiting insurance company executives and their lobbyists, who gave McCain $50,000.

The spot opens with island music and a shot of McCain in sunglasses.

"Bermuda," says an announcer. "It’s more than just a vacation destination for John McCain. McCain went to Bermuda…and while he was there pledged to protect tax breaks for American corporations that hide their profits offshore."

He adds: "And grateful insurance company executives and their lobbyists who benefit from the tax scheme, gave McCain $50,000. John McCain. He took a vacation, and so much more. And we get more of the same."

Responds McCain-Palin spokesman Tucker Bounds: “Barack Obama’s ad cleverly ignores two key facts: his own campaign headquarters is provided by a company based in Bermuda, and is guilty of the very same off-shore benefits he’s attacking.”

1st stunt) I''ll give $300 Million for whomever comes up with an electric car

2nd stunt) I selected celebrity empty pantsuit Sarah just to stun and choke the media and try to get elected, even though I know it risks my country''s future

3rd stunt) I''ll cancel the 1st day of my convention just so that lame duck W doesn''t have to be there physically. Thanks, Gustav... I owe you one, big time!

4th stunt) I''ll play the white knight, stop my campain and save the country by riding my white horse into Congress, twisting arms of those lazy people to make the bailout come asap. And hopefully I won''t have to debate on Friday, and hopefully I''ll move the debate to Oct 2 so little Sarah will be spared.

McCain is desperate. Does he think we are all THAT naive?

Seems to me if experience really mattered to McCain, he certainly would have chosen a veep who had some since his chances of dying are signifant leaving her as POTUS with virtually very little intellect and no experience. As a matter of fact, knowing she is a heartbeat away from the POTUS position with her radical views on many issues especially toward women, McCain put our country in grave danger and jeopardy. Seems that McCain is only concerned about winning this election rather than being concerned about our country!

If you will notice....Obama waits for McCain to give his answer about something going on..... then he will jump up and copie 90% of what McCains has to say

Posted by bellaanna at 08:37 PM

Not on a timeline in Iraq
Not for more troops in Afghanistan
Not on Pakistan

McCain followed Obama and Bush on all the above (except Pakistan where he has not agreed yet)

little similarity on income taxes
little similarity on energy
little similarity on health care

Where has this alleged conduct actually happened?

In 2005, John McCain is on record as calling for badly needed reforms in the house lending industry. At that time he said: "If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole."

In the New York Times (Sept. 11, 2003) the paper reported "that the Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago." Barney Frank, then the ranking Democrat on the Financial services committee replied that "Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are not facing any kind of finacial crisis and the more people exagerat these problems, the more pressure there will be on these companies and the less we will see of affordable housing."

I don''t think McCain, or Bush is behind this problem. In fact they were trying to stop it. Since 1989, the top for recepients of contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were: 1) Christopher Dodd (D) $133,900 2) John Kerry (D) $111,000 3) Barack Obama $104,849 4) Hilary Clinton $75,560. John McCain, or George Bush are not on the the list of the top 25 recepients.

O my, Strangeworld. I just read your "Don''t vote for McCain"...
Wow. Congrats on your not "committing sins knowingly and repeatedly". You are one amazing dude and we should be voting you in for something. How about president of the "70 times 7 club"-- or the "let him without sin cast the first stone society"? You and your kind are all throughout your bible. How do I know? I used to be judgemental like you---hid my sins and pretended like you. It was painful when I had to face the mirror and sing "It''s me O Lord , standin in the need of prayer". I was broken and taught to take care of my own business and to love. Now I am happy to tell you how very sinful I am and how much I need Gods love and grace to survive each day. This is McCains message too. He, like you and me, has feet of clay. If his Christianity made him pompus like you, no one would vote for him. I assure you, no one is voting for your brand of self-righteous Christianity.

McCain thinks that calling for the firing of Cox, and his parroting of Obama''s plan is being proactive.

With international confidence hanging on a thread last week, both candidates should have had the restraint with their objections and allow Bernanke and Paulson to come out with ONE VOICE from America. Barack Obama, despite having long proposed a plan to avoid this crisis and take us out through commonsense regulation, kept mum so that Paulson and Bernanke could assuage frayed nerves internationally. On the side you have McCain mouthing off, creating all sorts of distractions and problems for the administration. What John McCain did not understand about his actions was that if confidence continued to spiral as a result of his impulsive words, the 700 billion bailout package would not even be enough to solve the problem. it''s a good thing he now finally recognizes the wisdom of Obama''s economic philosophy, but his pattern of being Johnny come lately on a range of issues that have been the hallmarks of Obama''s campaign is becoming a pattern. However, McCain''s impulsive and unpresidential behavior at a time of national crisis raises questions about his commitment to national interest above his own political interests. Now he comes upto say Obama has no plan? So he put the country at risk to score political points last week with his nonsense, and now is trying to make Obama look bad for doing the right thing? ABSURD.

When will either candidate OWN a wrong and not simply act like a child saying "he did it too mom".
This is why the American voter is sick to death of our politicians, corporation CEO''s, lawyers, bankers, doctors, drug company execs., etc.
The honest politician (I know---I can''t believe I said it either) will be the winner in my book. Both McCain and Obama are entirely out of touch with middle America and must pretend and lie their way to the election. God help us all when these two are the best America has to offer.
And CBS. Wow, have you got the leans. You are turning into yet another Sensationalist, biased with an attitude, dirt detective--tell on you--show. You''re giving Springer a run for his money. What''s wrong with just the news any more?

Don''''t vote McCain for religious reasons...

McCain has been a habitual breaker of at least two commandments:

He''''s a habitual adulterer, he cheated on his first wife and in February had a story break about how he cheated on his current wife.

He''''s constantly bearing false witness, lying about his and his opponents records and policies on a daily basis. He''''s kept this up even after having it revealed to the public.

God might forgive you your sins if you do it unknowingly, but McCain has/is committing sin knowingly and repeatedly.

As Christians, you are going to have to look inside yourself and see if giving backing to a knowing sinner is appropriate according to the holy word. I believe that it is not, and will not be voting for the dishonorable John McCain.

McCain''s ads are lame. He doesn''t hit nearly as hard as he should, nor at the right targets. He should follow this website: http://www.Obama-Biden-Laden.net
If he put that kindof of stuff on his ads, people would be jumping off the Obama band-wagon like rats off a sinking ship. He wants to be kind to Obama, and it may very well lose him the election.
