The cast of the "Sharknado" sequel is growing rapidly -- and now features a fun hodge-podge of actors and comedians all ready to weather the storm.

Actress Vivica A. Fox, Sugar Ray singer Mark McGrath, E! host Kelly Osbourne, actor Andy Dick, former "30 Rock" star Judah Friedlander and actor Judd Hirsch have been tapped to star in "Sharknado 2: The Second One," reports Deadline.

They join original "Sharknado" stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid, who have both signed on for some more chainsaw and shark thrills.

Syfy's original movie, which debuted last summer, was a hit on social media. "It was a pleasant surprise for me because I was bracing for the worst, but of course was always hoping for the best," Ziering told CBS News. "We took it seriously. We committed to the material and it was enough that people were able to suspend disbelief and enjoy the fantasy and escape reality to the point where, 'Wow, there's sharks and tornadoes and look how this guy is shooting sharks out of the sky.'"

The sequel is expected to take place in New York City, with production starting next week.
