Lea Michele leaned on Kate Hudson after death of Cory Monteith

Lea Michele graces the cover of Elle. Elle

In her new December cover article for Elle, Lea Michele reflects on losing her love and co-star Cory Monteith, and reveals the A-list star who helped her cope the most. The 27-year-old "Glee" star says that one of the first phone calls she made after learning about Monteith's passing was Kate Hudson (who has been a guest star on "Glee.")

"I called her and said, 'I don't know where I'm going to go because my house is swarmed [with reporters],' Michele says about her call to Hudson."She was like, 'Oh, you're going to stay at my house.' Like it was nothing."

And not only did Hudson, 34, open her doors to Michele, but she also welcomed Michele's extended family and friends. "She let my family stay there, and any of my friends. She made sure that in the refrigerator were my favorite juices," Michele says. "I'll never really be able to thank her, truly, for what she did for me."

As the song goes, Lea, that's what friends are for...

And those worried about the "Glee" actress, can rest a bit easier now, as she seems determined to grow from this tragedy, saying, "It's very hard and you have to be very strong to come out of this alive, but I think by doing the best for myself, by showing that you don't have to lose yourself, maybe someone else will feel some sort of strength or comfort."
