Donald Trump: I have a "great temperament" 01:32

This week on "Face the Nation," Republican front runner Donald Trump was asked to respond to criticisms that his temperament is not fit for the White House. Even before conservatives spoke out against his most recent proposal to bar Muslims from entering the U.S., his fellow Republican candidates were calling his foreign policy ideas "reckless."

Speaking to host John Dickerson before a campaign event in Raleigh, North Carolina, the businessman brushed off those concerns, saying that his temperament is "great."

Extended interview: Donald Trump, December 6 17:21

"I think I have a great temperament," Trump said. "I built a tremendous company. I built a company that's worth many-- many-- many billions of dollars. I did it in a relatively short period of time. I have the greatest assets, some of the greatest real estate assets in the world, some of the greatest assets in the world. You don't do that unless you have the right temperament."

With regards to foreign policy, Trump added that his temperament is "tough," and offered instances where he believed his temperament proved strong and reliable.

"I'm also the guy who with my temperament said, 'Don't go into Iraq. You will destabilize the Middle East.' Right? I'm also the guy that said, 'Get Bin Laden,' before he knocked down the World Trade Center, in a book that was published two years before the World Trade Center. So my temperament is very good."
