Mother & Son Killed In Fatal Severna Park Fire

SEVERNA PARK, Md. (WJZ) -- A mother and her son were killed in an early morning fire in Severna Park Monday.

Anne Arundel County Fire officials say flames broke out around 1:45 a.m. in the 100 block of Benfield Road.

When firefighters arrived they say heavy fire from the rear of a single-story, single-family, ranch-style dwelling.

Two victims, a woman and and boy, were removed from the home and pronounced dead on the scene.

Forty four-year-old Pauline Naylor and her 11-year-old son William Burnapp, III were killed in the fire.

It took 40 firefighters another 30 minutes to bring the fire under control.

No other injuries were reported. These at the 11th and 12th fatal fire deaths so far this year in Anne Arundel County.
