High stakes in Israeli elections lead to record turnout

Benjamin Netanyahu battled to the very end in an emotionally-charged race, hoping for an unprecedented fourth term as prime minister. His challengers ran on promises of turning around the Israeli economy and improving relations with the United States. But for many, the reasons to vote were deeply personal.
