Women accuse Ore. doctor of rape, sex abuse, some while drugged

Dr. Frederick George Field Wasco County Jail/KOIN

(CBS/AP) THE DALLES, Ore. - Seven woman have accused an anesthesiologist at an Oregon hospital of sexual abuse, including some who say they were incapacitated by drugs when they were assaulted.

Dr. Frederick George Field was charged with rape and felony sexual abuse in an arraignment Monday, based on new allegations from five woman, in addition two who had already come forward.

A Wasco County grand jury originally indicted the 45-year-old Field last week based on the accusations of two female patients at Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles, Ore.

Some of the women accusing Field say they were molested while they were incapacitated by anesthetics. Hospital spokesman Richard Baltus says the latest woman to accuse Field was a hospital employee, not a patient.

Field was arrested July 28. The Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facility's website indicates he is still in jail.
