"Twilight" Fans Eclipse L.A. Live Before Premiere (VIDEO)

LOS ANGELES (CBS) While hosting the L.A. Film Festival live stream last night, it was hard not to notice the hundreds of tents pitched on the concrete plaza of LA. Live, a giant entertainment complex in downtown Los Angeles.

Since Monday, the area has became a Woodstock-like celebration of all things "Twilight."

The third installment of the franchise, "Eclipse," hits theaters on June 30. But the premiere taking place here on Thursday night has brought in droves of fans from around the world waiting anxiously for their favorite actors to grace the red carpet.

I decided to venture into the depths of the self-proclaimed "Twihard" frenzy to get to know some of the fans and find out why this has become one of this generation's biggest movie phenomenons.

Currently, there around 600 fans who have set up shop outside the Staples Center at LA Live. That's estimated to reach a fever pitch of over 3,000 screaming Twilight die-hards by the day of the premiere.

Last year's live streaming of the "New Moon" premiere made online history clocking over 3 million streams, while the hashtag #newmoonpremiere quickly became a global trending twitter topic.

I'll actually be hosting the official live stream for Eclipse from the red carpet on Myspace.com starting 5:30pm PT and I'll be interviewing all the stars of the film.

With all of the buzz surrounding this movie, the red carpet event promises to be a truly historic Hollywood moment not to be missed.
