Survey: 59% would grab smartphone out of toilet

(CBS News) A new survey finds 59 percent of smartphone owners say they'd fish around in a toilet bowl to reclaim their device if they ever dropped it in one. One-in-five respondents reported it had actually had happened to them.

The survey, published in The Los Angeles Times, also shows that 63 percent of people would go through the garbage if their phone got lost.

Others surveyed by Kelton Research for T-Mobile said they'd even put their safety on the line for their phones: 25 percent said they'd fight a thief, 17 percent reported they'd go onto a train track or into a tunnel for their phone, and 12 percent said they'd run into traffic to get their device back.
