Ryan and Biden set expectations for VP debate

(CBS News) The vice presidential candidates will square off Thursday night in the first and only vice presidential debate of the campaign. CBS News' Jan Crawford checked in on Joe Biden and Paul Ryan's preparations for the debate, reporting for "CBS This Morning" from Kentucky on Thursday morning.

According to Crawford, Ryan arrived in Kentucky late on Wednesday and did most of his preparation in rural Virginia, with former solicitor general Ted Olson standing in as Biden.

Looking ahead to the debate, Ryan said "It's a nervous situation because Joe Biden is one of the most experienced debaters we have in modern politics, but the Achilles heel he has is president Obama's record."

Meanwhile, Biden -- who has taken part in a 17 national debates during his career -- has been prepping in Delaware, and admitted that "all debates are tough" but added, "I'm looking forward to it, I really am."
