Royal hoax suicide: New details around nurse death revealed

(CBS News) Citing undisclosed sources, British media is reporting that Jacintha Saldhana -- the nurse who died after putting through a prank phone call to the hospital treating the Duchess of Cambridge for severe morning sickness -- was found hanged last Friday morning in her room at a staff accommodation near the hospital.

CBS News' Charlie D'Agata reports that Saldhana was cut down by the people that discovered her but by the time police and paramedics arrived on the scene, she was already dead.

The initial alarm was raised on Friday morning by her family, who tried and failed to contact her. Saldhana reportedly left behind a suicide note, but no specific details about the note have emerged.

Her death is not being treated as suspicious and authorities expect to provide a more clear picture on Thursday with the release of the coroner's report.
