Poster Portrays Obama as the Joker
Of course, most Obama-related street art has been positive, most notably the Shepard Fairey-designed "Hope" image; Gawker quips that the latest posters represent "the first-ever examples of Republican Street Art."
So where did it come from? The Corner's Anthony Dick did some Googling and found a very similar image from January on the Flickr photostream of a 20-year-old engineering student. (Scroll down to see it.) As Dick suggests, the poster seems to have been adapted from that image, a spoof Time Magazine cover.
"Not necessary indicative of my political views," the caption under the image reads. "But I do think hes not all he said he is. You can already sense he's backing off his claims of change."
