Post Suggests Use Of Artificial Lightning As Weapon

A message posted on a popular militant Islamist Internet forum today suggested the use of artificial lighting as a weapon. The message, entitled: "The Next Generation of the Islamic State … A Weapon that Will Shift the Balance of Power," referred to a new technique developed by German scientists to control artificial lightning to strike when and where they want. The poster about the message promoted the idea by saying that it could be used as an anti-armor and anti-aircraft weapon. Other forum members did not however show enthusiasm for the idea.
