Cops: Pa. man beaten, stabbed to death in broad daylight
MORRISVILLE, Pa. - Local police say a man was brutally beaten and murdered while riding in a van with three other men, reports CBS Philadelphia.
The savage murder took place on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. in Bucks County, north of Philadelphia. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Thanks to a neighbor who witnessed the beating, police were able to track down the vehicle. Morrisville Chief of Police George McClay told CBS Philadelphia that they had two people in custody and they were still looking for the third.
McClay told reporters the victim had been found with severe head injuries, as well as stab wounds in and around his chest and back. Police found the screwdriver that had been used to stab the victim, but they say it was the beating that caused his death.
He also told the station that this was not a random crime; the victims and attackers knew each other and the attack was premeditated.
Charges were expected to be filed against the two suspects on Monday, reported CBS Philadelphia.
According to police, this is the only homicide in the neighborhood all year.
