Obama to Host Screening of "The Pacific"

The White House just announced that on Thursday afternoon, President Obama will host a preview screening of the HBO series "The Pacific" in the White House screening room.

"The series tells the story of the Pacific front during World War II. Expected attendees include members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, National Security Advisor General Jim Jones, Members of Congress, and members of the VFW and the Women in the Military Service for America Memorial," the White House said. "Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman, Steven Spielberg, and HBO President Richard Plepler are also expected to attend."
