Dad writes hilarious two-page letter from the tooth fairy to daughter

For once, Kellie Dawson let her husband write a letter from the tooth fairy to their 10-year-old daughter, Scarlett — and the end result was hilarious.

So funny, in fact, Dawson had to post the two-page letter on her Twitter account.

“This is what happens when you let your husband write the tooth fairy letter,” the woman from Leeds, U.K., tweeted, along with a photo.

“You couldn’t wait until I was back from my holidays?” the young girl’s stepdad, Adrian — er, the tooth fairy — joked in the handwritten note. “There I was, sitting on a beach in Bermuda, sipping on a very alcoholic (but not too sugary) drink, when I get a text from one of my gumshoes telling me one of your pearly whites has escaped!!”

Dawson told CBS News that her 44-year-old husband had joked with Scarlett, while she had two loose teeth, that the tooth fairy would be on holiday in Bermuda when they finally fell out.

So, when one of Scarlett’s teeth did fall out, he decided to continue the storyline by writing his own personalized tooth fairy letter.

“I had to go out to the pharmacy and when I came back, he had written the letter,” Dawson said. “He is actually a published author of sci-fi thriller books. So this was a welcome change for him to write something fun. I loved it.”

Apparently, so did the internet. It’s already been retweeted hundreds of times.

“He always makes me laugh,” Dawson said. “[Adrian] is constantly using word play and puns and teaching the children that words are powerful.”

“If your other tooth comes out over half term do me a favour and give it back for a bit!” he wrote in the letter. “Let me have the rest of my holiday! This is a stressful job — sometimes it’s like pulling teeth! — and I need a break.”

Well, it looks like the tooth fairy won’t be getting that break any time son.

On Tuesday, Scarlett’s other tooth fell out.

And she’s due for another epic letter.

“I think I will leave the letter writing to him once again,” Dawson said.
