Maryland boy fastest 8-year-old cup-stacker in the country

(CBS News) RANDALLSTOWN, Md. - A Maryland boy won first place in his category at a national cup-stacking competition, making him the fastest 8-year-old cup stacker in America.

Noah White won three gold medals from the Amateur Athletic Union, which recently included the popular child's game in the Junior Olympic Games, reported CBS Baltimore affiliate WJZ.

"I got three gold medals hanging under my neck," White said.

His mother said she couldn't be prouder of her son, who is blind in one eye and has glaucoma in the other.

"This is something he wanted to do and something I thought would build his confidence and self-esteem," said Teira Canty. "And considering he can't play basketball of football and this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

The national contest is invitation only. White plans to enter more competitions and get invited to the national contest again next year.
