"Deer in the Headlights: My Life in Sarah Palin's Crosshairs" is slated to hit bookshelves in the fall, reports say.

"I want to tell the truth about my close relationship with the Palins," Johnston, 20, said in a statement released by the publisher, according to Mediabistro.com. "My sense of Sarah and my perplexing fall from grace - how I feel and what I've learned."

He added, "I'm doing this for me, for my boy Tripp and for the country."

Bristol's memoir, "Not Afraid of Life," is being published this summer by William Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins.

Simon & Schuster and CBS are owned by the same parent company.
