Justin Bieber under investigation for attempted robbery, police say

Justin Bieber could be facing a whole new set of legal issues.

Authorities confirmed Tuesday that the Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the singer for alleged attempted robbery.

According to reports, Bieber, 20, tried to take a young woman's cell phone on Monday at around 10:30 p.m. in the Van Nuys area of Los Angeles. Police have interviewed the woman who made the accusations, and the LAPD revealed Wednesday that the case remains under investigation with detectives conducting numerous interviews.

TMZ reports that the incident took place at Sherman Oaks Castle Park, which features a batting cage and mini-golf course. The site says it spoke with the unidentified woman, who claims Bieber and his pals got into a scuffle with some guys at the batting cage. According to the woman, Bieber thought she took photos of the incident and demanded to see her phone. When she refused, the woman says, he reached into her purse and snatched it, the site reports.

The same night Bieber posted an Instagram video in which he says, "I'm the best mini-putter in the whole world."

Bieber has had plenty of brushes with the law lately. He's expected to stand trial in July on charges of driving under the influence, resisting arrest and using an expired license in Miami, and in February, the Canadian singer was charged with assaulting a limousine driver in Toronto.
