Jeb Bush says his life is "totally focused" on exploring presidential run
Jeb Bush told supporters on a conference call "my life is totally focused on this"--his consideration of a run for the presidency, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
He also said he would release emails from his time as Florida governor Tuesday, along with the first chapter of a book he's writing, based on the emails. The emails have already been seen by several news outlets that obtained them from the state of Florida, but Tuesday's publication is expected to be more user-friendly, according to Bush's staff.
On the call, Bush talked about what had been accomplished during his eight years as governor, saying, "I'm really proud of the conservative record we had in cutting taxes. Even, for the nerdy guys and gals on the phone, even achieving a triple-A bond rating. It still warms my heart. Creating 1.4 million net new jobs by building a better business climate. Reforming the things that were broken, particularly our schools. All of that story we can begin to tell people and I'm really excited about it." Florida's bond rating was raised to AAA in 2005 by Standard & Poor's, while Bush was governor.
Bush said he would release the rest of his book later this year, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
