KENTLAND, Ind.- Brayden Denton loved Spider-Man. So when the 5-year-old boy died of cancer, his mother decided he deserved a superhero's sendoff.

Adults dressed as Spider-Man, Superman, Batman and the Incredible Hulk were among the pallbearers at Brayden's funeral last week in northwestern Indiana.

Brayden, who had a brain tumor, died May 8 at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. He had struggled with cancer for more than a year.

His mom, Stacie Denton, said Brayden was a big Spidey fan, but he also loved other superheroes.

"He was a huge Spider-Man fan. He had to quit just liking Spider-Man because he had all the toys. So really he liked every superhero," she told WLFI.

Brayden's uncle, Cory Denton, dressed as Thor for the funeral.

"It was hard, but I did it for him. We went to the Superman movie with him and he was dressed up as Superman. I watched all the Ironmans with him," he told WLFI.

Although the funeral was a little unconventional, Brayden's mom says her son would have approved.

"That's what Brayden would've wanted," she said.
