Ill. newlywed arrested for soliciting prostitute while on honeymoon in Florida

(CBS) ORLANDO, Fla. - The honeymoon is definitely over for a newlywed 21-year-old Illinois man who was arrested in Florida in connection with an alleged prostitution ring in Polk County, Fla.

A Polk County Sheriff's Office press release said a four-day undercover investigation that ended Monday targeted e-commerce sites and netted a total of 92 arrests - men and women - who were advertising or solicting sex. 

According to the press release, Mohammed Ahmed was arrested after he tried to meet an undercover cop posing a prostitute, by answering an online ad and going to an agreed upon location.

Ahmed and his new wife had been staying at a hotel about 35 miles southwest of Orlando, authorities said. Once he was arrested, he couldn't not go back to the hotel, so his wife reported him missing.

According to the the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Ahmed was charged with one count soliciting prostitution and one count of marijuana possession.
