Composer Hans Zimmer says he's done with superhero movies
It looks like "Batman v Superman" might just have been the last straw for composer Hans Zimmer, as the Oscar-winner says he's putting the superhero genre behind him.
"I have officially retired from the superhero business," Zimmer told the BBC.
As Christopher Nolan's go-to composer, Zimmer scored "Batman Begins," "The Dark Knight" and "The Dark Knight" rises, setting the tone for modern-day comic book movies. He also worked with Nolan on "Inception" and "Interstellar" and will next be re-teaming with the director for the upcoming WWII drama "Dunkirk."
"I did 'Batman Begins' with Chris 12 years ago, so 'The Dark Knight' trilogy might be three movies to you; to me it was 11 years of my life," said Zimmer, who also scored "Man of Steel" in 2013. "['Batman v Superman'] was very hard for me to do, to try to find new language."
