Girl, 16, shot dead in NYC apartment

NEW YORK -- Police are looking for a person of interest in the killing of a 16-year-old female found shot to death inside a Bronx apartment Thursday evening.

The NYPD said police responded to a 911 call of a female shot around 6 p.m. Responding officers discovered the victim, who had been visiting the apartment, with a gunshot wound to her head.

EMS pronounced the victim deceased. The investigation is ongoing.

The NYPD is seeking the public's assistance in locating Dale Weston, 42, who lives in the building where there the teen was found.

He was last seen at the building, wearing a black waist length jacket and blue jeans. He is described by police as 6-feet 3-inches tall and weighing 190 pounds, with brown eyes and short brown hair.
