Georgia residents wake up to find KKK recruitment fliers in driveway, report says
(CBS/AP) COVINGTON, Ga. - People in a Georgia neighborhood woke up Monday morning to find fliers outside their homes inviting them to join the Ku Klux Klan, CBS Atlanta reports.
Police collected more than 30 of the fliers that were folded and packed into plastic sandwich bags and tossed onto the end of driveways in Covington, about 35 miles southeast of Atlanta, the station reports.
CBS Atlanta reports that sheriff's officials are investigating whether any laws were broken as part of the distribution of the fliers, which feature a drawing of a robed Klansman standing in front of a tree, and the words "Join the KKK - Loyal White Knights."
Authorities are asking for anyone who received a flier to call the police.
