2 dead, 2 injured in shooting in Orange County, California

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. -- Two people were fatally shot and two more wounded Thursday afternoon in Orange County, California, CBS Los Angeles reports.

Paramedics arrived on scene and declared two people dead, CBS Los Angeles writes.

The deceased are a male and a female. The two wounded were described as males in their 50s and are in critical condition.

The search is on for the suspect, CBS Los Angeles reports, and the weapon was not recovered.

Officials have identified the suspect as 26-year-old Luke William Ferguson. He's described as armed and dangerous.Officials said the suspect knew the victims.

If you've seen him, you're ask to call law enforcement immediately.

He's described as a white male, 6 foot 1 and about 200 pounds. He has 90291 tattooed on his right shin.

Police did not identify a motive for the murders but said there was a domestic call at the residence the previous night.

CBS Los Angeles spoke to terrified neighbors who were told to shelter in place and lock their doors.

"As I was leaving the neighborhood, there were about 10 SWAT officers came towards me, in full tactical gear,  guns, dogs, and they told me to turn around and get back into my house and to lock the doors, lock the windows and stay in the house," said Tonya LaFontaine.

As of 8 p.m., officials told CBS Los Angeles they were no longer looking for the suspect in the neighborhood.

Authorities said they are looking for Ferguson in other parts of the Southland. Officials said the suspect fled in one of the victim's cars.
